Gymnast Code of Conduct
DO
-
Encourage and support other gymnasts.

Make all new members feel welcome
-
Treat everyone (gymnast, coaches, parents, the public) with respect.

Listen to coaches when they give advice – they are trying to help you!

Dress Appropriately - i.e. leotard/t-shirt and shorts/leggings.
-
Check the mats are still pushed in after your turn – ready for the next gymnast.

Offer to help move equipment
-
Wait patiently in lines for your go.

Tell someone if anyone/anything makes you feel unhappy.

Tie long hair back
-
Let a coach know if you are leaving the gym to wash hands, toilet etc.

Tell a coach if you are unwell, in any pain or suffering from any injury’s.

Remain with coaches at the end of a session until collected by a parent or guardian (If you have permission to walk home inform the coach you are leaving the gym)
DO NOT
-
Bully or hurt people’s feelings
-
Exclude them from games or talks
-
Be rude or cheeky to other people
-
Argue with your coaches
-
Wear clothes that you cannot stretch or go upside down in.

Leave gaps in the mat – these can be very dangerous
-
Leave other people struggling to move mats, crash mats etc.

Push or skip other people
-
Be worried or scared – Coaches are there to help
-
Leave hair loose and falling in your face
-
Leave the gym for any reason without asking first
-
Join in with activities in your are not feeling well or injured
-
Go home until you have told a coach and they have checked you out
